Mark Twain.... a man of great words, great works, and a sad life in his older years.

Wonderful quote! I always look forward to these from you, as you always find great ones.

Great quote, and love that picture!

What is that he is holding in his hands?

Courage is also changing the things that we can!

ellen ~ It was hard to pick just one - there are hundred of mark twain quotes. I try to find quotes that hold some significance to me.

Barbarafrom... ~ Welcome back. I missed you.I don't know what that isin his hands, but if you click the pic or the title, the link will take you to the page I shamelessly "borrowed" the pic from!

Courage is also changing the things that we can!

Yes, the second prong of the Serenity Prayer. The essence of simplicity!

That about says it all.

I also happen to think that the fear of standing by your own convictions is one of the greatest fears. Every one has phobias that could be overcome, I myself and almost paralyzed with fear of tarantulas and black widows. But to be afraid to stand up for what you believe in is a travesty.

Courage is also venturing into the unknown...but I guess that goes hand in hand with fear. :)

Hi Mike. Just dropping by real fast before returning to my job I don't get paid for yet. ;)

Of all Twain's sayings, that one's definitely up there. It's along the lines of that old saying about controlling your fears instead of letting them control you. Anyone who says they're fearless is either full of it or has something seriously wrong upstairs.
